Our School
The world is changing – education must also change to foster the competencies that societies and economies need today and tomorrow. Shourya Academy, a K-12 school, was founded by Dr. Cindrilla Chumduri and Dr. Rajendra Kumar Gurumurthy, both internationally renowned scientists in Germany, with a vision to promote every child’s holistic development, incorporating national values and world culture and laying the foundation for lifelong learning.

Prof. Dr. Cindrilla Chumduri
Founder and Chairperson
Prof. Dr. Chumduri is an Indian-born renowned German scientist and an educationist with expertise in infection and cancer biology. After her early career at top research institutions in Germany, Max Delbrueck Center and Max Planck Institute, Prof. Chumduri is heading the research group and mentors researchers at different career levels. She published many pioneering works and received awards for pursuing cutting-edge science and developing an outstanding educational program. She believes a true education is not remembering facts and figures but developing life-long habits of understanding the topics and learning skills, strategies, and habits of mind, which are transferable across a whole range of disciplines.
Dr. Rajendra Kumar Gurumurthy
Founder and Chairperson
Dr. Gurumurthy is an Indian-born German scientist from the top European research institute Max Planck Institute, and his work led to several groundbreaking discoveries published in high-impact journals. He is a passionate educationist in love with a field of knowledge, deeply stirred by issues and ideas that challenge our world. He is a strong advocate for providing forward-thinking education for children of India, from small villages to big cities, on par with the world's most scientifically advanced education systems. He believes that the development and progress of society and the nation depend on the kind of education our children get and their happiness.

Parents, teachers, caregivers, and schools play an essential role in influencing a child’s personality. The greatest gift parents can give their children is an education of the highest quality. Our School emblem represents our values
The beautiful rainbow occurs when sunlight enters raindrops, causing dispersion and refraction of the light. While the human eye can comprehend only seven colors in the rainbow, it comprises over a million colors. The expanding pattern of the circles in the School emblem represents the children of the Shourya Academy growing along with the abundant opportunities signified by the rainbow colors. The 3D symbol abbreviates Shourya Academy. The blue text represents freedom, trust, and intelligence; the red text means energy, passion, and courage.
